A Reminder – Employer Shared Responsibility Rules

The Employer Mandate and the Rules that Follow

The employer mandate has been a difficult piece of legislation to swallow, and with all the compliance legislation that has rolled out ever since the affordable health care act was fully in force, we wanted to reconnect and remind everyone about the employer shared responsibility rules since they are so crucial for large businesses. We know this isn’t a fun topic, but on the other hand, we know how draconian the penalties can be and want to help you navigate the law.

Employer Shared Responsibility Rules – Employer Mandate

Our clients have already been briefed, called, and connected to make sure they are in compliance with the employer shared responsibility rules, but for a quick reminder to everyone…

If you are a applicable large employer then you need to be providing your full time employees affordable coverage . The coverage offered must be what is considered minimum value health coverage, as outlined by the affordable health care act. If you are not familiar with what affordable coverage is, please contact us if you are your brokers (or us if we are not) and get the information you need to stay in compliance. As crazy as it sounds, some agents won’t inform their clients until it is too late, and we don’t want you to be one of them.

Hopefully this post served as a reminder and didn’t take too much of your time. Have a great day!
